Born as Sydney Lowell, the creative spirit and wordsmith uses her rhythmic poetry to tell stories that move. With a tongue as sharp as sweet, as meditative as exuberant, and a presence as soulful as refreshing. The Amsterdam born & bred is active as a poet, performing and recording artist, voice actor and host. She’s also co-founder & producer of creative platform We The People Amsterdam.
For the manifestation of spirit, for connection, and as a call to love and introspection, Sydney Lowell is a poet out of necessity. She considers her poetry not only a reflection of her internal world, but as an extension; an extension that allows her to operate as a messenger. Sharing messages about individual or collective reflection, spirituality, love and growth. Sydney Lowell wears the role of poet with pride, honoring the rich ancestral oral tradition that paved the way. Every performance is an invitation to connection and an energetic exchange with her audience.
In 2023, Sydney Lowell released her debut EP “WORD”, a testament to the transformative power of language and the dynamic role it plays in personal growth, purpose and expression.
In a continuous dance with growth and connection, Sydney Lowell has been expanding her art in the realms of music and theater. She’s graced stages such as Paradiso and Melkweg Amsterdam, and performed at festivals like North Sea Round Town, Grachtenfestival, MOMO festival, Le
Guess Who?, and Down The Rabbit Hole.

Hosting
As a performer myself, I know the impact of a welcoming crowd and a welcoming host. It can quite literally set the stage. For the energy in the room. For the way the crowd receives a performer or speaker. And for the way they receive the crowd. And so to be right there in between, setting the stage, is something very special to me.
I started hosting in 2018, with the foundation of my platform We The People. And I still host our regular poetry events with a lot of love to this day. Besides that, I’ve also hosted at North Sea Jazz Festival, Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition, Sesi Community Center, and I’ve been a frequent host for Super-Sonic Jazz Festival.
